If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear, except maybe torture

I haven't read much about the CIA torture report but this article about Khalid al Masri seems to be a pretty good reason why the usual rhetoric of having nothing to fear if you've got nothing to hide is no more than propaganda.

Khalid al Masri is a broken man today. A decade after the CIA snatched him by mistake, flew him half way around the world in secret, and questioned him as part of its detention and interrogation program, he’s yet to recover.

This is more shameful behaviour in the eternal war on terror. "We've always been at war with Eastasia".
